A rubber roof is a thin EPDM or TPO membrane glued to the decking, and it fails at the seams, the penetrations, and anywhere a branch or ladder has torn it. We pull the failed sealant, clean the membrane to bare rubber, and bond a matched patch so the repair becomes part of the roof instead of sitting on top of it. All work is in-shop only at our Yorba Linda facility.

How we patch a rubber membrane in the shop
We clean the area back to sound membrane, prime it where the adhesive system calls for it, and bond a patch that overlaps the damage on every side so water cannot track under an edge. Then we reseal the surrounding penetrations with fresh self-leveling sealant so the repair and the roof around it age together.
Working in the shop matters here because EPDM and TPO adhesives need a clean, dry, temperature-controlled bond surface. Patching a rubber roof in a hot parking lot is how a repair lifts again within a season.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have an EPDM or TPO rubber roof?+
It is not always obvious by looking. EPDM is usually a darker, more rubber-feeling membrane and TPO is typically white and slightly stiffer, but the reliable way is to check the build sheet or have us identify it in the shop. We confirm the type before patching because the two use different adhesives and patch material.
Can a torn rubber roof be patched, or does it need full replacement?+
A localized tear, puncture, or lifted seam is almost always a patch repair when the rest of the membrane is still sound. We only recommend replacement when the membrane has gone brittle or is failing across the whole roof. We inspect the full surface and tell you which one your rig actually needs.
