A bumper takes the first hit, so it is often the most visible damage and the part most likely to hide bent mounts behind it. We straighten what can be saved, replace what cannot, and repair the brackets and energy absorbers that hold the bumper to the frame. Every bumper job is handled in shop at our Yorba Linda facility.
Bumper work we handle
Bumpers on RVs and specialty vehicles come in welded steel tube, aluminum, chrome, and molded plastic, and each is handled differently. Steel and aluminum bumpers are often straightened, rewelded, and refinished when the metal is intact. Chrome bumpers that are pitted or peeling are replaced rather than patched, because a half repaired chrome face never looks right. Plastic covers and fascias are repaired with plastic welding and flexible filler when the tabs and mounting points survive.
Behind the bumper we check the brackets, mounting horns, and energy absorbers, since a hit hard enough to mark the bumper usually loads those parts too. We will not bolt a new bumper onto bent mounts and call it done.

Repair or replace the bumper
A bumper that is dented but straight and solid is usually cheaper to straighten and refinish. Once the metal is torn, the chrome is failing, or the bumper has lost its shape, replacement is the more honest fix and often the only one that restores the original fit. We weigh the condition against the cost in the written estimate so you are not paying to refinish a bumper that should be replaced.
Bumpers as part of a larger hit
A bumper rarely takes damage alone. We inspect the surrounding fascia, valance, lighting, and frame mounts because a front or rear impact spreads load past the bumper itself. Catching that adjacent damage during the bumper repair keeps a small claim from turning into a second visit.

Can you repair a plastic bumper cover instead of replacing it?+
Often yes. If the mounting tabs and structure are intact, we repair plastic covers and fascias with plastic welding and flexible filler, then refinish. If the cover is shattered or the tabs are gone, replacement is the more reliable fix and we will tell you which one your bumper needs.
Do you replace chrome bumpers on motorhomes?+
Yes. Pitted, peeling, or crushed chrome bumpers are replaced rather than patched, because chrome cannot be blended like paint. We source the replacement and check the brackets and mounts behind it before installing.
Is bumper work done in shop or can you come to me?+
In shop only. Bring the rig to our Yorba Linda facility at 23281 La Palma Ave and we handle the bumper, brackets, and any adjacent damage there. We do not offer mobile or roadside service.
