# RV Slide-Out Room Structural Repair in Chino

> OCRV Center rebuilds slide rooms that have sagged, racked out of square, or rotted from water intrusion, repairing the floor, framing, and skin so the room is sound and seals correctly again, all in our Yorba Linda shop.

A slide room is a box that has to stay square while it slides in and out and supports weight, so when the floor sags or the framing rots the whole room stops sealing and stops moving right. OCRV Center opens up the room, repairs or replaces the damaged framing and substrate, and resets it square so the structure carries the load again.

## Structural damage we repair

The most common slide-room failure we see is a soft, sagging floor caused by water that got past the seals and soaked the substrate and framing. Left long enough, the rot spreads to the side framing and the room drops at one corner, which then drags on the rail and overloads the drive. We cut back to sound material, replace the rotted framing and floor substrate, and rebuild the structure to carry weight again.

We also straighten rooms that have racked out of square from a hard travel event, a binding mechanism, or years of running misaligned. A room that is not square will never seal evenly no matter how good the gaskets are, so the structural reset has to come first.

- Sagging and rotted slide-floor substrate replacement
- Side and end framing repair after water intrusion
- Out-of-square (racked) room realignment
- Delaminated slide skin repair with our fiberglass team
- Floor and corner reinforcement to spec

## Our in-shop structural process

We pull the room or open the affected panels in shop, document the extent of the damage for the insurance file, and dry and remove every bit of compromised material before rebuilding. Closing a wall back up over wet or weak framing only hides the problem, so we do not rush that step.

Once the structure is rebuilt and the room is square, we reinstall the seals and have our mechanism team confirm the drive runs true against the repaired room. The goal is a room that moves, sits square, and seals, not just one that looks straight from outside.

- Damage documented in shop for the insurance claim
- Wet and rotted material fully removed, not covered over
- Framing and floor rebuilt to support load and travel
- Room reset square in the opening
- Seals and mechanism rechecked after the rebuild

## Frequently asked questions

### The floor of my slide feels soft and spongy. Can you fix it?

Yes. A soft slide floor is rotted substrate, almost always from water that got past the seals. We remove the damaged floor and framing, rebuild the structure, and reseal the room so it is solid and weather tight again.

### My slide does not sit square in the opening. Is that structural?

It can be. A room that has racked out of square from rot, a hard travel event, or a binding drive will not seal evenly. We straighten and reinforce the room structure first, then reset the seals and mechanism against it.

### Will you document the damage for my insurance claim?

Yes. We photograph and document the extent of the structural and water damage in shop and bill insurance direct, so the claim reflects the full scope of the rebuild rather than a surface patch.
