When a slide jerks, racks unevenly, or trips its controller, the fault is almost always in the mechanism that drives the room, not just the seals. OCRV Center identifies which system your coach runs, tests it under load on the bench and in the wall, and rebuilds the rack, cable, rail, or hydraulic drive so the room runs square and synchronized again.

## Mechanisms we service

Slide rooms are driven by very different hardware depending on the manufacturer, and each fails in its own way. A Schwintek system walks the room on toothed nylon racks driven by motors at the top corners, while a Lippert in-wall system uses a worm gear on a vertical tube. Power Gear and BAL designs pull the room on synchronized cables or hydraulic rams. We work on all of them in shop.

Correct repair starts with correct identification. We confirm the drive type, inspect the rails and guides, and check that both sides of the room are timed together before any part is replaced, so the room is not forced out of square by one side leading the other.

## How we diagnose a failing mechanism

We extend and retract the room repeatedly while watching amperage draw and listening for the bind point, which tells us whether the room is fighting a worn rack, a dragging rail, a seized gearbox, or a room that has dropped out of alignment and is loading the drive unevenly. Many slides that owners assume need a new motor are actually binding because a rail is bent or a rack tooth is stripped.

Once the cause is isolated, we repair the actual fault, retime both sides, lubricate to the manufacturer spec, and run the room through full cycles to confirm it seats and seals without overdrawing current.
