# RV Inverter and Converter Repair in Chino > OCRV Center diagnoses and repairs RV inverters and converters in our Yorba Linda shop, the units that turn battery power into household AC and shore power back into battery charge. Diagnostics start at $285 and are credited toward an authorized repair. Inverters and converters are easy to confuse because they sit on opposite ends of the same job. The inverter turns 12-volt battery power into 120-volt AC so you can run outlets off the bank. The converter does the reverse, turning shore power into DC to charge that bank. All work is done in shop at our Yorba Linda facility. ## Inverter and converter work we handle A dead inverter shows up as no AC at the outlets when you are off shore power, while a failed converter shows up as a house bank that slowly dies even when plugged in. Both can also fail partway: an inverter that overheats and shuts down under load, or a converter stuck on a single charge stage that boils the batteries. The diagnostic fee is credited back against an authorized repair.
