On the exterior we start with a pre-rinse and a foam wash to lift grit, then clay or chemically decontaminate the gelcoat and clear coat to pull out embedded road film, bug residue, and rail dust. From there we machine polish to remove oxidation and light swirl marks before laying down a sealant or wax that protects the finish from sun and oxidation. A chalky, oxidized gelcoat needs an actual cutting compound and a machine, not a quick wax that hides the haze for a week. We assess the panel, test a section, and choose the polish and pad combination that brings the finish back without burning through a decal edge or thinning a fragile clear coat. The same care applies to awnings, slide toppers, and rubber seals, which we clean and treat rather than blast with whatever is on the shelf. ## Detail before paint, sale, or storage A full detail is also the right first step before other work. Before a paint or graphics job we strip oxidation and contamination so the shop sees the true condition of the panel. Before a sale or a pre-purchase handoff, a clean coach photographs and inspects far better.
