# RV Countertop Repair and Replacement

> OCRV Center repairs chipped, burned, or delaminated RV countertops and fabricates lightweight replacement tops in our Yorba Linda shop, fit to the galley, bath, and dinette.

RV countertops fail in ways home counters rarely do: edges lift from heat and humidity, sink cutouts crack from flexing, and corners chip when the coach moves. We repair what is repairable and replace what is not, always with weight in mind, because a heavy slab in the galley changes how the coach sits on its axles.

## Repairing the damage RV counters actually see

Many countertop complaints are fixable without a full replacement. Burns, shallow chips, separated seams, and lifted laminate edges can often be repaired, re-bonded, and refinished so the top serves for years more. Cracked sink cutouts and stress fractures around fasteners get reinforced or rebuilt rather than just filled.

We assess the substrate underneath too. RV counters sit on lightweight cores that can swell if water has been sitting around the sink or faucet, and a top is only as solid as what it is bonded to.

- Repair of burns, chips, and separated seams
- Re-bonding lifted laminate and solid-surface edges
- Rebuilding cracked sink and faucet cutouts
- Checking and replacing water-damaged counter substrate
- Refinishing repaired areas to blend with the existing surface

## Replacement tops chosen for weight and movement

When a top is beyond repair, we fabricate a replacement sized to the coach, not to a house kitchen. Lightweight solid surface and laminate are the practical choices because heavy slab stone adds weight up high and can crack under the flex and vibration of travel. We template the galley, bath, and dinette so the new top, sink, and cooktop cutouts land exactly where they should.

Weight is part of the recommendation, not an afterthought. We will steer you toward a material that gives the look you want without quietly eating into the coach cargo capacity, and we coordinate sink and faucet refits with our systems team.

- Lightweight solid-surface and laminate tops sized to the coach
- Heavy slab stone steered away from for weight and crack risk
- Galley, bath, and dinette templated for exact fit
- Sink, cooktop, and faucet cutouts coordinated with systems work
- New tops weighed against the coach cargo capacity

## Fabricated and fit in shop

Templating, cutting, and fitting a countertop in the coach itself gets a tight, gap-free result that drop-in house counters cannot match. With the RV in our bay we can pull the old top, address the cabinet tops and substrate beneath it, and set the new surface level and supported.

If a leak around the sink caused the damage, we fix that source and any swollen substrate as part of the same job so the new top is not set onto a wet base.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you put granite or quartz in my RV?

We generally steer owners away from heavy slab stone. It adds weight up high and is prone to cracking under road flex and vibration. Lightweight solid surface and laminate give the look you want without overloading the coach.

### My countertop edge is lifting. Can it be repaired?

Often yes. Lifted laminate and solid-surface edges can usually be re-bonded and refinished. We also check whether water has swollen the substrate underneath, since the top is only as solid as what it sits on.

### Will a new countertop match my existing cabinets and sink?

We template the galley, bath, or dinette and select materials and edges to work with your existing cabinetry, and we coordinate the sink and faucet refit with our systems team so everything lines up.
