We clamp the vehicle to anchor points, hang gauges or run a measuring system off the factory datum holes, and compare every reference dimension against published spec. Only then do we know exactly where the rails moved, how far, and in which direction. From there we apply controlled hydraulic pulls in stages, letting the steel relax between passes so it returns to shape without cracking or work-hardening. Because alignment on a coach affects more than tire wear, we verify the house structure after the chassis is true. A frame that is straight again but checked only at the axles can still leave a slide binding or a door out of square, so we close the loop on the whole vehicle before it leaves. ## Frequently asked questions ### Is chassis alignment the same as a wheel alignment? No. A wheel alignment adjusts toe, camber, and caster at the suspension. Chassis alignment corrects the frame structure itself, the rails and cross members the suspension bolts to. If the chassis is bent or sagged, no amount of wheel adjustment will hold, so we straighten the structure first and verify ride height before anyone touches the suspension geometry. ### My RV tracks crooked but was never in a crash. Can the chassis still be off? Yes. Years of heavy loading, a sagging tag axle, corrosion in a rail, or a hard pothole hit can move a chassis without an obvious collision. We measure against factory control points to find where it shifted, then pull or reinforce as needed.
