# RV Battery and Charging System Repair in Chino > OCRV Center tests and repairs RV house battery and charging systems in our Yorba Linda shop, from batteries that will not hold a charge to converters and alternators that will not refill them. Diagnostics start at $285 and are credited toward an authorized repair. A coach that will not hold a charge is one of two problems: the battery bank is worn out, or something in the charging path is not putting power back in. Those are different repairs, so we test both sides before recommending anything. We service flooded, AGM, and lithium banks and the converters, alternators, and chargers that feed them. All work is done in shop at our Yorba Linda facility. ## Battery and charging work we handle The charging system has several sources that should all refill the house bank: the converter or charger on shore power, the alternator while you drive, and solar if the rig has it. When a battery dies early, the cause is often a charger stuck at the wrong voltage, an alternator that is not charging, or a chemistry mismatch where a lithium bank is being fed by a converter that was built for lead acid. With the bank under a controlled load we measure how it holds up, then check that every charging source is actually refilling it at the correct voltage. A weak battery and a lazy charger look identical from the dashboard, so we separate the two before recommending parts. The diagnostic fee is credited back against an authorized repair, and a written estimate follows so you know whether you need a battery, a charger, or both before any work begins. ## Frequently asked questions ### My RV batteries are only a couple years old but already dying, why? Often the battery is fine and the charging path is the problem, a converter stuck at the wrong voltage, an alternator not charging while you drive, or a charger that overcharges and cooks the bank. We test the battery under load and verify each charging source before condemning anything. ### Can you convert my RV to lithium batteries? Yes. A proper lithium conversion is more than swapping batteries. The converter or charger has to deliver a lithium-correct charge profile, and the cabling and disconnect need to handle the load.
